The Red Star hanging above is shining unmercifully with the summer in its full glory. The school exams are over as also the new session that started in April. The results are eagerly awaited that shall decide the career prospects of millions.

The Delhi Kendra celebrates its Golden Jubilee on the 16th of May. The function is being held at the FICCI Auditorium and the President of India is going to be the Chief Guest.

The Association, on behalf of the alumni, honoured with the SARASWATI SAMMAN in October 2006 on the School Annual Day to Mr. Mohan Kumar, HOD Mathematics, Ms. Neeta Khattar, History, Mr. M C Munjal, Fine Arts, Ms. Yogesh Chadha, Special Education, Ms. Suman Kumar, PE, Mr. R K Brajchand Singh, Performing Arts and Ms. Nalini Gupta, Primary Education for having completed 25 years of continuous teaching in the School.

True to our commitment and tradition we have honoured with SARASWATI SAMMAN till date 32 retired & serving Teachers, who completed 25 glorious years with this Institution. Click here to view the complete list.

Starting from 2006, we introduced another novel concept of giving 4 pure silver coins embossed on one side with the Bhavanites logo along with the Samman to the Teachers.

We lost Mrs. S Umre, former teacher on April 5, 2008 at Delhi. The faculty led by Shri Negi and Alumni were present at the prayer meeting held in her memory. May her soul rest in peace. There are some limited CD-ROMs of the Alumni Database (1960 - 2004) in stock that are available Rs. 100/- each. It will be given out on first-cum-first-serve basis.

Sashidhar Menon of '64 batch has sent us a rare group photograph of the 1964 pass outs. According to us this contains the only known photograph of Mr. Ganapathy, Principal (1964 - 66).

Remember, organisations need money for their activities. As we gradually expand our network, we need your regular Subscription. Send in your subscription if you have not yet done so. We also have a Life-membership scheme, the details of which can be viewed by clicking on the "Subscription" button at the top.

The intra-batch network is getting stronger and popular. Now we have forums on Yahoo for various batches who exchange information amongst themselves. The Alumni Directory is on-line and also on CD-ROM. It took us 4 years to host the alumni database on line. We have now hosted the names from 1961 to 1997. The work on other years is going on and being uploaded simultaneously. Do send in your views and suggest any changes. Till such period the entire database goes on-line, the directory is also available for download in a zip format as well as on a CD-ROM! News letter of the Association - THE BHAVANITE, is available on-line from Vol. I to X. We invite alumni to contribute articles for the newsletter and we promise not to consign them to Editor's trashcan and publish it in our forthcoming issues!
